Subject: just getting started, is this odd behavior?

Hello, just working through configuring KFlop and Step in KMotion. I saved compiled download and run my code. I put a little printf in so I could tell it worked. It does, I see my text string in Console after the upload and run. Now for the oddness...

I am running on a Dell 755 with a clean Windows 7 Home. When I attempt to type anything in a filed in the Console very weird things happen. For instance, if I attempt to type the command 'Version' I can type the V but the next character 'e' causes the Windows 7 explorer to open and the character is not input into the command field. If I try Echo Hello World like in the examples, the E is fine then nothing seems to happen with c and h and then the o enters so I get the string 'Eo'. If I then enter a space character, all of the KMotion windows I have open turn invisible with just a white border around them! I have to do a CTRL-ALT-DELETE and when the Task Manager appears, all of the windows return to normal.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

I have never seen anything like that.  Are you typing in the Console Screen Command Cells?  Or in the Main Log Window?  Does this happen with other screens or applications like Windows notepad?  Does it happen without a KFLOP Board connected?  Maybe try a different keyboard?  Seems to be acting like the "Windows Key" is stuck down.

I guess I’ll chock it up to “oh well”. I had to run out most of the day and when I got back my PC had installed some windows updates and rebooted. KMotion now works properly, I can enter commands and execute them. I do have to disable automatic windows updates though, I hate having my machine reboot almost every day. If I see this again I’ll try to collect more information.

Regards,
Michael
